Click The Bell is a website for following up to three YouTube channels and seeing their latest videos and Shorts. No account is required.

In short: your selected channels and website settings are stored in first-party cookies in your own browser. Click The Bell does not keep a server-side user profile or database of your selected channels.

What data do we process?

Selected YouTube channels, including the channel IDs and the channel information shown on the website.
Your per-channel video choices, such as whether you want long videos, Shorts, or both.
Quiet hours, including whether they are enabled and the selected start and end times.
Seen video IDs, so the website can show which videos are new or already read.
Language preference, so the website remembers whether you selected Danish or English.
Search terms when you search for a YouTube channel. They are sent to the Click The Bell server so it can request matching public YouTube channel data.
Your IP address and country code may be processed temporarily when no language preference cookie exists. This is used only to choose Danish by default for visitors from Denmark and English for visitors from other countries.

Where is the data stored?

Your selected channels, channel format choices, quiet hours, seen-video history and language preference are stored in first-party browser cookies. These cookies can remain for up to two years unless you replace them, remove them or clear the website's data in your browser.

The website also uses a service worker and browser cache so the installable web app can load its interface efficiently. This cache contains website files, not a server-side user account.

Click The Bell itself does not write your selected channels, settings or history to a server-side database or user file. Requests still pass through the web server in order to fetch YouTube data.

Notifications

If you enable browser notifications, the permission is managed by your browser. Click The Bell does not create or store a push token on its server for the website. While the website is active, it can check for new videos and show a browser notification if you have granted permission and quiet hours do not block it.

Import and export

You can export your selected channels and their long-video/Shorts choices to a JSON file. The export is generated locally in your browser. When you import a JSON file, the file is read locally; the included YouTube handles are then looked up through the Click The Bell search endpoint so they can be matched to YouTube channels.

Third parties

Click The Bell uses public YouTube data to search for channels and retrieve channel and video information. Some requests use YouTube API Services. By using those features, data may be processed by Google/YouTube in accordance with the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

For the automatic default-language selection, Click The Bell first uses country information supplied by the hosting/proxy layer when available. If no country code is available, the visitor's IP address may be sent to ipwho.is to obtain a country code. The Click The Bell application does not store that lookup as a user profile.

If you choose the iPhone App Store link on the website, you leave Click The Bell and Apple processes that visit under Apple's own terms and privacy policy.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

Click The Bell uses first-party cookies that are necessary for its features and preferences. The website does not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking cookies or an analytics profile for advertising.

Retention and deletion

You control the locally stored website data. Removing a channel removes it from the website's saved channel list and removes its channel-specific format setting. You can remove all Click The Bell cookies, cached files and notification permissions through your browser's site-data/settings controls.

The application does not intentionally retain your channel selections or website preferences in a server-side database. Standard technical request information may still be processed temporarily by network, hosting and third-party API providers as necessary to deliver requests.

Hvilke data behandler vi?

Stille timer, herunder om funktionen er slået til samt det valgte start- og sluttidspunkt.
ID'er på sete videoer, så hjemmesiden kan vise, hvilke videoer der er nye eller allerede læst.
Sprogvalg, så hjemmesiden husker, om du har valgt dansk eller engelsk.
Søgetekst, når du søger efter en YouTube-kanal. Søgningen sendes til Click The Bell-serveren, så den kan hente matchende offentlige YouTube-kanaldata.
Din IP-adresse og landekode kan behandles midlertidigt, hvis der endnu ikke findes en cookie med dit sprogvalg. Det bruges kun til at vælge dansk som standard for besøgende fra Danmark og engelsk for besøgende fra andre lande.

Hvor gemmes data?

Dine valgte kanaler, formatvalg, stille timer, historik over sete videoer og sprogvalg gemmes i førstepartscookies i din browser. Cookies kan gemmes i op til to år, medmindre de erstattes, fjernes eller du rydder hjemmesidens data i browseren.

Hjemmesiden bruger også en service worker og browsercache, så den installerbare webapp kan indlæse brugerfladen effektivt. Denne cache indeholder hjemmesidefiler og er ikke en serverbaseret brugerkonto.

Click The Bell skriver ikke dine valgte kanaler, indstillinger eller historik til en serverbaseret database eller brugerfil. Forespørgsler går dog gennem webserveren, når der skal hentes data fra YouTube.

Notifikationer

Hvis du aktiverer browsernotifikationer, administreres tilladelsen af din browser. Click The Bell opretter eller gemmer ikke et push-token på serveren for hjemmesiden. Mens hjemmesiden er aktiv, kan den kontrollere for nye videoer og vise en browsernotifikation, hvis du har givet tilladelse, og stille timer ikke blokerer den.

Import og eksport

Du kan eksportere dine valgte kanaler og deres valg for lange videoer/Shorts til en JSON-fil. Eksporten oprettes lokalt i browseren. Når du importerer en JSON-fil, læses filen lokalt; de inkluderede YouTube-@brugernavne slås derefter op via Click The Bells søge-endpoint, så de kan matches med YouTube-kanaler.

Tredjeparter

Click The Bell bruger offentlige YouTube-data til at søge efter kanaler og hente kanal- og videooplysninger. Nogle forespørgsler bruger YouTube API Services. Når du bruger disse funktioner, kan data blive behandlet af Google/YouTube i overensstemmelse med YouTubes servicevilkår og Googles privatlivspolitik.

Til automatisk valg af standardsprog bruger Click The Bell først landeoplysninger fra hosting/proxy-laget, når de er tilgængelige. Hvis der ikke findes en landekode, kan den besøgendes IP-adresse blive sendt til ipwho.is for at hente en landekode. Click The Bell-applikationen gemmer ikke dette opslag som en brugerprofil.

Hvis du vælger linket til iPhone-appen i App Store på hjemmesiden, forlader du Click The Bell, og Apple behandler besøget efter Apples egne vilkår og privatlivspolitik.

Cookies, analyse og reklamer

Click The Bell bruger førstepartscookies, som er nødvendige for funktionerne og dine indstillinger. Hjemmesiden bruger ikke reklamecookies, tredjeparts trackingcookies eller en analyseprofil til reklameformål.

Opbevaring og sletning

Du styrer selv de lokalt gemte hjemmesidedata. Når du fjerner en kanal, fjernes den fra hjemmesidens gemte kanalliste, og kanalens formatvalg slettes. Du kan fjerne alle Click The Bell-cookies, cachede filer og notifikationstilladelser via browserens indstillinger for websitedata.

Applikationen gemmer ikke med vilje dine kanalvalg eller hjemmesideindstillinger i en serverdatabase. Almindelige tekniske oplysninger om forespørgsler kan dog behandles midlertidigt af netværks-, hosting- og tredjeparts API-udbydere, når det er nødvendigt for at levere forespørgsler.
